Mattress trees and blueberries

Blogger gave us a break for some hours and some of my blog friends lost comments and some of them lost their whole latest post. I was lucky this time and didn't loos anything, but this world of blogging has become such a habit that it felt a bit frustrating to not be able to create the post I wanted to make or comment others. So these photos are from my Wednesday-evening-walk in the forest while the youngest learned Orienteering. I have always loved blueberry but never study the flower so close and I didn't know that it's flowering already.

I can't have enough of the light green color in the birch leaves when the sun shines through them. I'm afraid that I was a traffic danger when I cycled home from work yesterday. My eyes couldn't leave all the beautiful trees that sunny evening.

I know I'm a bit odd in this case but I think lichens can be really beautiful when you get a little closer. This one do we call Window Lichen as they used to put it down between the two window glazings when it was winter. I think it was both as a decoration and a practical thing when the lichen took care of the moisture between the glazings.

The mattress trees are also blooming these days.....

How beautiful! It is nice to stop and see what spring is bringing to us, isn't it? The color, the smells, it's all so wonderful. And, yes, I'm glad Blogger is finally working. It is amazing how much we come to expect from this service and when it's not available, we're not sure what to do with ourselves!

I'm unfamiliar with blueberry flowers, so thanks for sharing your photo of one. oh my it's lovely. I too have found myself captivated by the young, newly unfurled leaves. they are the most beautiful at this stage, no? the information about lichens is interesting; initially I wasn't sure what you meant, but now I know - between the inside window and the storm window. I never get a chance to see them but I agree with you about their beauty. I'd want to photograph them too. your mattress trees are funny, but whatever it takes to protect and save them, it's good. thanks for sharing your world Ella. I most enjoy it. have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks Becky, it was hard to describe the windows! We don't have the word storm window but it's exactly what I mean.

And.....the mattresses are not to protect the trees..... Sometimes a stationary innocent tree can be a danger to the human beings if they came riding on a very fast Mountain Bike.....

It WAS frustrating to lose Blogger for awhile. I had NO IDEA how I would miss it! I lost a bunch of comments but no posts like so many did!

Ella...your photographs are WONDERFUL! So pretty and refreshing! Happy Weekend to you!

Glad spring is finally coming your way Ella. I was still computer detoxing so didn't really notice. I've also lost 9 pounds so this spring cleaning is working. :) Hope you are well.
