Lack of time and snow

Imagine that someone provides you that box of chocolates you have been longing for so long,
but when you stretches out your hand to take your favorite -
the box disappears!

That's how I feel right now. We have had a "wonderful" warm and sunny weather this week, but with tooooo high temperatures. The snow is disappearing in front of my eyes and I haven't been out skiing as much as I have wanted to. One more problem is my lack of time to be outside and enjoy the last white spots.

My lack of time right now also include reading blogs and writing something on my own, but I guess there will be a bit calmer in a few weeks when we have our Easter break. The two photos above were from last weekend when I went out on my skis. I know that we're quite a few who wants the snow to stay at least during April so I have to put up with all happy comments at work like:

- Oh, we can soon be out in the garden if the snow melts this quickly!

But, yesterday evening I got my revenge - ha!
It came three centimeters (about an inch) of snow!

So this is what I woke up to this morning.

A white beautiful world!

(But the sun is doing her best to destroy it all, the snow on the trees has already vanished, as I've been doing this post, so I have to finish NOW!)

From ABBA to Loreen

                                                        Loreen with her song Euphoria

I'm not really sure about if it's always right to compete when it's about artistic performances like  music. But in Europe we have an Event called Eurovision Song Contest that is very big and important for some countries (like Sweden). And last weekend we had our national final to select who we will send to represent our country in Azerbaijan. Almost everybody have some kind of relationship to this competition since they were a child. Both those who loves it and hates it. One of the first memories I've got was the evening when ABBA won in Brighton with Waterloo. That was really something!

I like her whole performance because she doing the powerful dance and singing almost by herself and the special effects are very artistic. Who knows, Loreen is maybe our new export to the musical heaven.

After rain comes sunshine

Someone visited the sauna yesterday and cooled down in the lake -
but it wasn't me!

Everybody doesn't need fuel on the trip.

Coffee on the fire

Fickle weather today with snow and rain but that didn't stop us for being outside.

Hot chocolate in the snow cave

She got what she wanted last night, hot chocolate and sandwiches in the snow cage when it was dark outside. We were all very grateful for the idea. We could hear the wind in the high spruces outside but it was calm and cosy where we sat close to each other.

The cave is so large so we can stand in it now.

Preparing one of the candle shelves ...

but there has been much snow to shovel out.

A shopping kick

“The shopping kick”

It’s been a sunny day but a bit blowing so a trip in the forest along the tracks was calmer than going on the lake.

She wanted us to have hot chocolate and sandwiches inside
the cave tonight, so guess what I'm going to do now...

Barn charm from 1888

Finally out on skis today!

We came to an old barn and we wished so much that it could have told us what’s been going on both inside and outside. We could just guess and we found a lot of signs like names and years from people who have been there.

The oldest year we saw was 1888.
Instead of iron nails the door had some kind of wood nails.

Murikka lunch today with pancakes, it’s a little easier than the chicken- noodles- vegetables dish we made yesterday. But when you’re out you always get so hungry so everything tastes very good.

No blog break

We're having a kind of spring break but we call it "sport break". My plan is to be out on my skis a lot but today I've been driving snow mobile and that isn't too bad either. But the best of this week is that we're together the whole family, driving, eating, playing and repairing engines....

I didn't know if I was going to do anything on the blog this week, I thought about having a blog break but I have decided to do the opposite! I will try to show at least one photo a day and maybe write something depending on what I will catch with my camera. Usually I only feel a kind of stressful pressure when I demand a thing like that of myself. But now I'm looking forward to this challenge.

- What about my new hat?

My favorite season

Spring winter!
Now it starts, my favorite season of the year. We have had some warm days recently and it has been perfect to build and create snow sculptures. But it's going to be colder so the snow will get crust on the top and you who know me understand that I'm looking forward to be out on my skis.

The Troll was made of some of my students when we had our last lesson yesterday (Friday) which always is outside with different activities depending on the season and weather. The plan was to be out skating but the ice was looking more like a swimming pool, so I had to change the plan....

Hope your having a great weekend, I am!
