My favorite season

Yes, yes, yes + 5° C ! This weekend was the beginning of our fifth season...

....SPRING WINTER, the best of them all, with cold nights

and warm sunny days.

When we can spend a lot of time outside and enjoy all the

beautiful white colors and when we get hungry

we light the fire and maybe have hamburgers for lunch!

Who wants to meet this team?

When I work with groups I talk much about the advantage of differences in a class, group or a team. I want them to understand the strength of having different abilities and qualities because than we can learn from each other. To make it easier to understand I make up a story about a team in some sport like soccer and ask them what they would think about a team with only forwards.

I do also hope that this is a help in our work with preventing bullying at our school if we accept that the differences are something to be proud of and not a thing to tease on.

The Lazy's funny exercise

When it's hard to find time to exercise you maybe will buy this product. Maybe you have already seen this but I take a chance as I like it so much. I don't think that they have sent Ellen's shows here in Sweden but I have seen some other views on You Tube before and I like her way of meeting with her guests.

Weekend plans

Weekdays, weekends, weekdays, weekends...... the time run so fast. Writing this it's still Friday but Saturday nocks on the door and that means that we can continue to follow this drama series that started last Saturday. Bart wrote about it and I thought that it would take many months before it came to Sweden but fortunately I was wrong. My expectations were high but I love the acting, environments and the costumes.

The cold weather has stayed the whole week, this morning when we drove to work it was -22° F but they have promised us only -2°F tomorrow so I look forward to get out for a walk but also watch my girls playing ice hockey, both with training and matches.

I will finish this Friday as a real American and watch Modern Family and I wish you a happy weekend whatever your plans are and wherever you live.

Sunny Sunday Barbecue

The sun was shining and it was so beautiful outside. We just had to go outside to play with the children and my brother lit a fire so we could eat barbecue sausages.

It felt a little cold but it was so cosy so we stayed out, but when we finally got inside we discovered that it showed 5° F on the thermometer.

All the cousins love to go for a ride on the snow mobile.

What do you think about a trip and maybe fall asleep in this blue box? I know that I loved it when I was younger - and smaller!

Apple and other Fruits

I think this is typical British humor and I like it very much as it feels very current for us who spend a lot of time with the computer.

Hope you enjoy this coming weekend!

You are all my English teachers!

Thank you all my friends!

I had my colleague's class with an English lesson yesterday.
I usually dread and worry for this, but this time it felt different.

I know that I have much to learn.
But thanks to all your blogsites,
and your comments on my blog,
I have beguine to use and practice the language
that I have been studying when I was younger.

My confidence has improved,
and the joy when I was talking English with the students meant so much.

Possibilities

My plan was to write about something else today but when I read Jill's post this morning I changed my mind. She reminded me of how we can catch the moments when there actually is a problem going on, like the bad weather. We haven't got ice storms here, only very much of snow.

This is a problem among many adults but the children are amazing as they only see the possibilities. When my class went to our dried stock they discovered that there were so much snow around it that they could lay back and look up on the trees during our silent minutes.

Some of them have been architectures and built there own house on the schoolyard and it has been growing this week. Every snow lump is important and sometimes there are discussions about who found it first.

When I visited this apartment I found this little bird and a bowl with something in it, maybe food, fruit or candy...

Well, there have been a real problem this week and we are enormously grateful that nobody got hurt. The snow on the roof decided to come down and the protection that would prevent this also came down. But in spite of this I have decided to be inspired of my students and enjoy this time of the year as I know that there will become a spring and a summer later.
