Welcome back Mr Obama

The US President Barack Obama left Sweden after 24 hours in Stockholm. In his speech to our Prime Minister he said that he would like to come back some day and bring his family. I guess that is a polite phrase that he always use.

Even though I couldn't stop thinking about his words and I really wish that he could come back some day. I know that he has chosen his life but I wish him to came here as a "free man", without all the security people and walk out alone in the forest. Maybe visit a water spring where he could drink the clean water or sit on the shore and listen to the waves.

Maybe he could witness his children or grandchildren among the blue berries with bleu colored lips or

have some raspberry pie with berries that he have picked together with his family.

While I'm writing down my made-up story he has some very difficult decisions to consider in the near future as the world is so complicated...

Evening run with long legs

I usually run after breakfast at 8.30 but today I couldn't make it until 8.30 in the evening. As you see we still have the light evenings but the shadows get very long and the darker autum is soon coming.

I've always wished that I got long legs, but this is perhaps too much...

Holliday is over

Only one day left now and than it will be a year to the next summer Holliday! But I will be at home my first day "at work" as we're going to be here in my house. We're about twenty persons so I'm hoping for a sunny weather so we can be sitting out in the garden.

I've really enjoyed this summer. It's been a lot of work with the house as changing windows, painting and gardering, but also a lot of the time with the family.

I'm not so found of Coca Cola but when there was a really hot day I just had to take a glass with much of ice and it tasted really good. But the cold shower wasn't bad either....

A meeting

Spending some days out of town now and when I go for a walk to the the small store in the village I stop for a meeting with this lady. She didn't say so much but we had some "eye contact", which could say more than words...

Heaven is a place on earth

I always listen to the radio when I do my morning run along the river. When I got back to the house I picked some strawberries, sat down on the bench and yes, I was shore that it was true;

- Heaven is a place on earth!

Swedish summer

My return to blog life has also ment that I allow myself to make the posts directly from the mobile. Maybe that will mean more misstakes with the spelling but sometimes I've been missing the photos that are more spontaneous. So this post is a result of "my new reporting blogging".

It's a typical Swedish summer day, we're relaxing on the porch and it's warm and lovely but when a cloud cover the sun it's a little bit chilly.

The light at midnight

Half an hour before midnight, and I should be sleeping now but the light outside is so beautiful that I just want to stay up all night.

We have had a traditional celebrating of our Midsummer and we have been together with my brother and sister with their families.

My own princess

There's a wedding today in Stockholm as the Princess Madeleine of Sweden and the New York banker Christopher O'Neil have married. It was very beautiful wedding and the her dress was created by the Italian designer Valentino Garvani. As he was occupied making that dress, we had to "create" my daughters dress for the prom by our selves...

I have had a photo with the fabrics on the blog and wrote a few lines. Some of you asked me to show it when it's ready so now I proudly present the finished project which was a team-work with me, my daughter and my sister.

My daughter wanted this adventure to be something very special, but not too expensive, so I made the hairstyle and she put on makeup. She was very pleased and enjoyed the whole evening.

I was very touched when they got to the event as she also wanted her brother (who loves old American cars!) to sit beside the owner of the car.

The shore

After a month with very few blogposts I've decided to take small steps and not force myself to write so much every time. I will be satisfied if I just come back to my interest with photography. A visit to my favorite seashore last weekend gave so much of inspiration and so does the wonderful weather that we
have had this last week. I wrote in my last post about the green explosion from the leaves but now we have a flower explosion, some of them three weeks earlier than usual.

Suddenly it happens

Last weekend was rainy and everything was grey, but from one day to another during this week the green color came like an explosion. We also have summer temperatures today and that is a strange feeling, I would compare it with going abroad to a country where they have summer when we still have spring.

Have been working the whole day in the garden and it has been both relaxing and a tough job. The header I had with snow felt so faulty so I just had to change it immediately. I just took the mobile and went outside our house to get something that captured my neighborhood.

Rhubarbs and sewing

I don't know why, but I've been very critical against my writing and my photos for the blog lately. I've done posts but decided not to publish them as I found them not interesting to none but myself. I haven't used my camera as much as I used to do before but I hope that I can change that now when the spring is knocking on the door here.

My oldest daughter has a work for school and that is to follow the the changes in the nature. She has studied the area around the house as the snow has vanished and plants like the rhubarb has developed. She has borrowed my camera so now I "borrow" her rhubarb photo, but I think that she allows me to do that.

We also have another project together (I love to share activities with my children). This new exciting project is to create her prom dress. Some parts with the sewing are too difficult for us so I'm grateful that my sister and her associate at their fabric shop can help us.

GOLD

For the first time in my blog-life, I'm will have the same photo on my three different blogs, but not the same words.  It's just that this icehockey-team has done something very special. The last time it happened was 35 years ago! So the whole town has really been longing for the gold medal so long, especially as this was the third time in three years that we reached the final. But two silver medals finally changed to GOLD!

This Friday night was magic, the city was congratulating the team and about 10 000 people came to the square (the town has about 30 000 inhabitants). We were all singing, shouting and jumping together with the team.

Much going on

There's much going on right now in my life, but I'm enjoying it all so I don't complain. It's just that I've been missing my writing and reading through this blog, but I hope to catch up a bit this weekend.

The new blog is something I started some weeks ago when we spent some time in the village where we have our lakehouse. Many villages in Sweden are getting smaller all the time as there are no jobs and the younger moves to the cities. There are people who are struggling and try to start companies for tourist as we have a wonderful nature for fishing and hikes. With the blog I hope that I can give my picture of the village, but I will also write about issues that I hope to be interesting for those who live there or spend their weekends and holidays there like we love to do.

Only for the art

I usually tell him to be careful and take it easy. But this time I asked him to drive like he use to do in open fields where there are deep and soft snow.

And, like always, he did what his mother asked for....

Sport holiday

Skiing along the shore to the lake house. It's blowing and a little chilly but that makes it even more cosy when I get inside and put some more wood in the stove. We're spending some days here, like so many years before on "sport holiday". Hopefully we will have many wonderful moments outside and maybe the sun will join us too!

Less books, but more reading

Our little library at home isn't growing like before. Some years ago the children were in that age when we read something every night with them, but now they read their own books sometimes from school or from the library.

I never thought that I would like to read an E-book, no,
I thought I had to hold a real book in my hand and smell the scent of paper to be able to read it!
But,
now I'm on my third one.....
And the best thing is that it's free as I've borrowed them from the library.

New in the family

Do you remember your first pet?
This little one has been with us for some weeks now and the owner has been overjoyed as it is her very first. My other children once had a rabbit but that was many years ago.

Not only galleries

Visiting a gallery can be so wonderful but this day outside on my skies couldn't have been better. The moisture must have been high this cold night close to the river as the snow crystals were formed so beautiful. I was so charmed of what I saw.

Snow activities

It's been a great weekend. The activities have varied but if we put it all together in the family we have been skiing both down hill and cross country, playing hockey and being out with the snowmobile. I hope that you also have had a great weekend with or without snow.

Artificial light

It's time to put away the star and all the other things that have been decorated the house since  the beginning of December. But I think I will keep some of it, as this star that we have in the window in our living room. We still need all the light we can get. It is dark outside when we leave the house in the morning but also when we get home.

I know that I have redact this photo a little too much but I enjoyed the moment  when I was experimenting with it some days ago.

Five seasons

I have always felt that I divides my year in five seasons. I count the period from the middle of February to the beginning of May as a specific season and call it Spring winter. It's a wonderful time outside when I enjoy skiing very much.

But there are others in the north part of my country with more than five seasons, they have eight! You can see their explanation from the web site visit Sapmi here:

How many seasons do you have? Vivaldi with his Quattro Stagioni, must have experienced four seasons and we know that he lived in Italy, but what is a season. Of course it depends on where you live and what climate you have. The weathermen have their explanation and facts about average temperature but when do you really feel that it is spring or autumn and not summer. This year we experienced that it was autumn on Friday when we started a weekend but full winter when it ended on Monday morning, but that doesn't happen very often as the first snow usually disappears.
